Kinrin is a rich, full-bodied Uji matcha from Marukyu Koyamaen, refined enough for koicha (thick tea) and generous as an everyday usucha. If you want to taste what concentrated, high-quality matcha can be, start here.

Producer: Marukyu Koyamaen, Uji, Kyoto.
Format: Original factory-sealed 40g tin. About 20 bowls of usucha (2g) or 10 bowls of koicha (4g).
Usucha: sift 2g (about two scoops) into a bowl, add 70ml of water at 80°C (176°F) and whisk briskly for about 15 seconds.
Koicha: 4g with 50ml of water at 80°C, kneaded slowly with the whisk until glossy, no foam.
Store unopened tins somewhere cool and dark. Once opened, reseal, refrigerate and enjoy within about three months.

How to prepare
Iced latte: 2 to 3g whisked into 40 ml water at 80°C / 176°F, poured over ice and 180 ml milk. Usucha: 2g with 70 ml water at 80°C, a quick zigzag whisk for about 15 seconds. No whisk? Shake matcha and water in a sealed jar for 20 seconds.

Producer: Marukyu Koyamaen, Uji, Kyoto. Factory-sealed with the inner seal, never opened or repacked. Unopened: cool and dark. Opened: reseal, refrigerate, finish within 3 months.
