Traditional Usucha (Thin Tea)

  • Sift 2g (1 teaspoon) of matcha into your bowl
  • Add 70ml of water heated to 80°C (176°F)
  • Whisk vigorously in a W or M motion until frothy
  • The ideal consistency shows fine bubbles across the surface

Modern Latte

  • Prepare usucha as above with 30ml water
  • Steam 200ml of your preferred milk to 65°C
  • Pour steamed milk over whisked matcha
  • Sweeten to taste if desired
